Sunbrella® is a brand of the Dickson® company, which can call itself the global leader in technical quality textiles. The company has developed from a specialist in sun protection to a specialist in furniture fabrics for indoors and outdoors.

What makes this sunbrella fabric so special ?
Unlike traditional dyeing methods that only color the outside of the fibers (and therefore fade quickly), Sunbrella dyes its fibers right down to the core with highly UV-stable color pigments. This makes the fabrics extremely colourfast and resistant to the effects of sunlight.

In addition, after coloring, the fabric receives a coating that protects against dirt and stains. The outdoor fabric is also very strong and will last a long time! The fabric is breathable and allows air to pass through. This makes the Sunbrella fabrics extremely suitable for outdoor applications such as beach chair runners, decorative cushions, lounge cushions or sun blinds!

The fabric is easy to process on a normal sewing machine. Working with a jeans needle is recommended.

Wat maakt sunbrella stof nu zo bijzonder?

Sunbrella® is een merk van het bedrijf Dickson® dat zich wereldwijd leider in technisch kwaliteistextiel mag noemen. Het bedrijf heeft zich ontwikkelt van specialist in zonwering naar specialist in meubelstoffen voor binnen en buiten.

In tegenstelling tot traditionele verfmethodes die alleen de buitenkant van de vezels kleuren (en dus snel vervagen), verft Sunbrella zijn vezels tot de kern toe met zeer uv-stabiele kleurpigmenten. Hierdoor zijn de stoffen uiterst kleurbestendig en weerbaar tegen de gevolgen van zonlicht.

Bovendien krijgt de stof na de kleuring een tegen vuil en vlekken beschermende coating. Ook is de outdoor stof zeer sterk en gaat het lang mee! De stof is ademend en lucht door latend. Dat maakt de Sunbrella stoffen uitermate geschikt voor outdoor toepassingen als strandstoel lopers, sierkussens, loungekussens of zonwering! 


De stof is gemakkelijk te verwerken op een normale naaimachine. Werken met een jeansnaalds is aan te raden.

Eenvoudig onderhoud van Sunbrella stof:

  • Borstel Los vuil van de stof af
  • Sproei een schoonmaakoplossing van water en zachte zeep op de stof
  • Laat de schoonmaakoplossing in de stof intrekken
  • gebruik een zachte borstel om de stof schoon te maken
  • spoelen de stof grondig af tot alle zeepresten verwijderd zijn
  • Aan de lucht laten drogen

    Als je toch de stof zou willen wassen in de wasmachine dan is dat mogelijk op 30 graden. Laat daarna de stof drogen aan de lucht, niet in de droogtrommel. Als je daarna de stof zonder stoom strijkt, activeer je de vlek finish opnieuw.
