With being home and the beautiful spring last year, which we are very jealous of this spring, we also saw our number of packages to be sent grow. After it became clear that the COVID situation would last a little longer, parcel service DPD increased its shipping rate by € 2.12 including VAT for large packages from 1 meter in length. While Postnl's packages were seriously delayed. A large part of our range now consists of all kinds of (beach) chair variants, all of which fall within the large package rates. However, last year we decided not to change our shipping rates as a courtesy. The increase was supposed to be a temporary measure, but that turned out not to be the case.
However, when DPD unannouncedly increased the prices again in April this year by € 3.63 including VAT for large packages from 1 meter in length, we could no longer use our old shipping prices for the chairs and we therefore increased our shipping rates for large packages. amended.
We have considered working with another parcel service, we mainly work with DPD (with the exception of the Wadden Islands). Due to our good experience with DPD as a professional shipping service in the Netherlands and Belgium, with a track & trace code to the customer with an hourly time indication within which they will deliver, free insurance per package up to €500 and a continuously short delivery time, we have decided that the service and Speed of delivery to our customers is our priority and we will continue to ship with DPD via Boekuwzending.com. It seems as if Postnl is cheaper to ship, but Postnl charges extra costs to insure packages, the delivery time to our customers is longer and the service if something goes wrong is less good. We also investigated other shipping parties, but DPD always came out on top.
Below are our shipping rates including VAT, because we are obliged to charge VAT to our customers. We have deliberately kept the parcel post rates the same, despite the fact that these costs have also increased. We give a 25% discount on a 2nd package of beach chairs and a 50% discount on shipping costs on a 3rd package.
